At our practice, we are dedicated to creating a healthy, straight, and beautiful smile for each of our patients, no matter their age. Teeth move well for adults as well as children, and with the highly effective and advanced treatment options we provide at all of our five practice locations, such as Invisalign® and clear braces, many of our Harwell & Cook Orthodontics patients are adults who are finally achieving the smile they have always wanted.
With decades of experience treating patients of all ages, we are an excellent choice for adults seeking orthodontic treatment for the very first time, or for adults who may be in need of correction for prior treatment that was not completed or did not meet their expectation. Either way, when you receive braces at Harwell & Cook Orthodontics, you will enjoy an unmistakable cosmetic benefit as well as added longevity of your teeth with an improved bite.
Our Braces FAQ is full of additional information about receiving braces, and several of our patients have shared their personal stories about receiving braces at our practice so that you can feel more at ease about your own treatment.
Adult orthodontic treatment can sometimes be a bit more involved than it is for our younger patients, especially if there are more complex issues at play, such as a severely misaligned jaw. In some instances, oral surgery performed by an oral surgery specialist in conjunction with their orthodontic treatment at our practice may be recommended. If this is the case, we will carefully coordinate your treatment with your other care providers to make sure you have an excellent experience and a beautiful result.
Many of our adult patients are concerned with how their new braces will affect their daily lives. With only slight adjustments to your lifestyle, you’ll have an excellent experience and a nearly seamless transition to your new life with braces. We make sure to design your appointment times to fit in with your busy lifestyle, and we’re confident that the benefits of your orthodontic treatment will far outweigh some of the temporary inconveniences. Your care routine will need to be adjusted slightly because excellent oral hygiene habits are essential during orthodontic treatment for optimal results—due to the prevalence of periodontal disease in adults, it is crucial that our adult patients keep a very proactive oral health regime. You can also expect temporary slight discomfort in your mouth and teeth after your adjustments or when you are putting in a new aligner for your Invisalign treatment, but this is easily controlled with over-the-counter medication such as Advil® or Tylenol®.
Feel free to contact us at any of our five convenient practice locations to schedule a complimentary consultation with Dr. Anthony or Dr. Cook to discuss your orthodontic needs. In the meantime, our helpful staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the many types of orthodontic treatments we provide our patients. We look forward to helping you Smile Out Loud!
